Farheen & Azeem: Two December Days, Ten Months in the Making
Every extraordinary celebration begins long before the first guest arrives. For Farheen and Azeem, it began in February 2025 with an inquiry, followed by a consultation, another conversation, and finally, on the evening of February 25, a message from Azeem: “We are so excited to work with you.”
From that evening forward, we spent ten months shaping two December celebrations into one complete wedding experience. The Nikkah and reception each had their own identity, atmosphere, and rhythm. The Nikkah would feel like a romantic garden gathering rooted in faith and family, while the reception would transform into a sophisticated black-tie evening with a completely different sense of scale and drama. Our work was to develop both experiences from the ground up through planning, design, hospitality, and execution.
The Vision
In early March, we began defining what each celebration should feel like. For the Nikkah, approximately 150 to 175 guests would gather at Brighton Abbey in Aubrey, Texas. The architecture and natural romance of the venue gave us a beautiful foundation for the garden-inspired setting Farheen and Azeem envisioned. The following evening would take on an entirely different character. For the reception, the Prairie Ballroom at Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park gave us the scale and flexibility to create a polished black-tie celebration that felt formal, modern, dramatic, and timeless.
From the beginning, we planned both events around the full guest experience. We considered how guests would arrive, what they would see first, how each room would reveal itself, where family would naturally gather, how the couple would move through the space, and which moments needed the greatest visual and emotional emphasis. Every decision began with how the celebration should feel before we moved into how it should look.
Designing the Garden Nikkah
For the Nikkah, the pardha became the heart of the design. We developed the ceremony around a romantic garden theme, creating a floral setting that felt soft, abundant, and naturally connected to Brighton Abbey. The floral garden inspired pardha framed the ceremony and created a beautiful focal point for Farheen and Azeem and their families.
The surrounding design was developed to support that same feeling. We considered the scale of the florals, the placement of seating, the sightlines, and the relationship between the ceremony and the architecture of the venue. The result was a setting that felt intimate, elegant, romantic, and deeply personal, with every element working together to support the significance of the Nikkah.
Designing the Black-Tie Reception
The reception called for a complete transformation. We developed the evening around a sophisticated black and white palette with strong contrast, sculptural detail, floral movement, and candlelight. The vision was formal and refined, with the drama of a black-tie celebration balanced by warmth and softness throughout the room.
The stage became the primary visual anchor of the ballroom. At sixteen feet, it created a commanding presence at the front of the room. Black draping established depth and formality, while cascading white florals introduced movement and softness. The design continued toward the patterned black and white dance floor, creating a strong visual connection between the couple’s stage and the center of the celebration.
The tables extended that same design language throughout the ballroom. Black linens created a rich foundation, while sculptural white chargers and candlelight added contrast, dimension, and warmth. Clear seating kept the room visually open and allowed the darker elements to feel elegant and refined. The floral direction continued through the cake presentation, allowing the stage, dance floor, tables, florals, candlelight, and cake display to feel like one complete environment.
Because the décor for the celebration came directly from BBA Luxury Weddings, we were able to develop the room as a full composition from concept through installation. Every design decision was considered in relationship to the next so the room would feel cohesive from every angle. When guests entered the ballroom, the intention was for them to experience one atmosphere, one visual story, and one beautifully connected room.
Building the Wedding
Behind the two wedding days were ten months of planning and 27 planning meetings with Farheen and Azeem. Each meeting moved the celebration forward. We used that time to refine the vision, review design, work through logistics, develop timelines, confirm priorities, make selections, and prepare both events in detail.
BBA Luxury Weddings also guided the couple through the venue and vendor selection process from the beginning. We recommended the venues that best supported the couple’s vision, guest count, and desired experience, and then moved those selections through the contracting process. We did the same with the vendor team, recommending the professionals who best aligned with Farheen and Azeem, the creative direction, and the needs of the wedding weekend before guiding each selection through contracting and into the planning process.
Those early decisions became the foundation for everything that followed. The venues informed the floor plans, the floor plans informed the design, the design informed production, and production informed the timeline and guest experience. Each layer of planning was connected to the next.
Throughout the ten months, we completed venue walkthroughs, developed and refined layouts, reviewed guest flow, coordinated production details, and built the timeline around the many moving parts of both celebrations. As the wedding evolved, we continuously considered how the spaces would function once they were full of guests, how the couple would experience each moment, and how every vendor would work together within one shared production plan.
Planning the Guest Experience
Guest experience was woven into every stage of planning. We looked carefully at how guests would move through each event, what they would encounter first, how transitions would feel, and where opportunities existed to make the experience smoother and more intuitive.
For the reception, hand-prepared escort cards were paired with BBA’s coordination technology so guests could quickly locate their assigned tables from their phones. This helped create a smooth arrival experience and allowed guests to move into the ballroom with ease.
The timeline was built with the same level of detail. Photography, film, entertainment, catering, beauty, henna, desserts, mocktails, cake service, the photobooth, and the audio guest book all had to operate within one shared schedule. We mapped the intersections between each team and each moment so the celebration could move naturally from one part of the evening to the next.
That level of planning is what creates ease on a wedding day. Every arrival connects to another part of the schedule, every transition affects what follows, and every service moment, entrance, vendor cue, and setup period contributes to the overall experience. Our role was to understand those relationships in advance and build the structure that would allow the wedding to unfold beautifully.

The Garden Nikkah
On a December afternoon at Brighton Abbey, Farheen and Azeem were married surrounded by the people closest to them. The garden inspired pardha stood at the heart of the ceremony, surrounded by florals that created a soft, romantic setting for the couple and their families.
The architecture of Brighton Abbey gave the celebration a natural sense of place, while the floral design brought the garden vision to life. The ceremony felt intimate, elegant, and full of warmth. Our team managed the timeline, vendor movement, arrivals, transitions, and details throughout the day so each part of the celebration flowed naturally and the meaning of the Nikkah remained at the center of the experience.

The Black-Tie Reception
Twenty four hours later, the wedding transformed. Guests entered the Prairie Ballroom for an evening designed around the elegance and formality of a black-tie reception.
The sixteen foot stage anchored the ballroom, with cascading white florals moving across the black backdrop and toward the patterned dance floor below. Twenty round tables extended the design throughout the room, while candlelight softened the black and white palette and added warmth to the evening. The cake presentation continued the same floral direction, allowing the room to feel complete from one focal point to the next.
As the evening progressed, the ballroom shifted from a carefully composed design into a full celebration. The dance floor filled, the candlelight moved across the tables, and the room came alive in exactly the way we had planned for it to. Months of meetings, layouts, walkthroughs, design development, and production had become an experience the couple and their guests could simply enjoy.
The Work Behind the Celebration
For Farheen and Azeem’s guests, it was two beautiful December days. For us, it was ten months of planning, design, collaboration, and execution.
It was 27 planning meetings with the couple, venue and vendor recommendations, contracting, venue walkthroughs, floor plans, design development, guest flow, production planning, timeline creation, sourcing, mockups, vendor management, and the many decisions required to bring both events together. We studied how the rooms would look from the entrance, how the couple would experience them from the stage, how guests would move through the spaces, and how every design and logistical decision would support the celebration as a whole.
We developed a romantic garden Nikkah around the intimacy and meaning of the ceremony, then transformed the following evening into a sophisticated black-tie reception. Every layer of the wedding was developed with the complete experience in mind.
That is what luxury planning means to us at BBA Luxury Weddings. It is thoughtful design, detailed preparation, intentional hospitality, and careful coordination across every part of the celebration. It is creating a wedding where the planning, design, logistics, and guest experience all move together as one.
Farheen and Azeem’s wedding was the result of ten months of collaboration brought to life across two distinct celebrations. A romantic garden Nikkah followed by a sophisticated black-tie reception. Two December days that had been ten months in the making.
